Extensions to the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre are being delayed because of a shortfall in funding - A report to Penrith Council this week said that despite the announcement of a $4.5 million funding package from the State Government this year, there is still a significant shortfall - It is expected that the struggling Railway Street Theatre Company, which is currently housed in the Q Theatre, will have a home in the newly-expanded Joan Sutherland Centre - Council said it is pushing the Government for more money, but so far been unsuccessful.
