In this very lengthy article a case of alleged fish destruction is heard before Police Magistrate F P Meares and Justices of the Peace, T R Smith and F D Woodriff. Rhoderick Dhu, William Rowe, Michael Dowling and Robert Fury were proceeded against by Sergeant Fowler, for the Fisheries Department, for unlawfully exploding an explosive substance in the Nepean River, for the purpose of destroying fish. Other cases related to drunkenness, and a breach of the Licensing Act. In the latter, George Day Greaves, Licensee of the Irrigation Hotel, Mulgoa, appeared to answer a charge of selling liquor during prohibited hours.
