At its Ordinary meeting of 24 June 2002, Council received a report on the activities planned for National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC Week) 2002. Information was also provided in this report on the significance of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags and a recommendation was adopted to permanently fly the Aboriginal flag in the Civic Centre forecourt from NAIDOC Week 2002.
