A lengthy article on the first chapel at Castlereagh.On Sunday, October 14,1917, a service was held commemorating the first Methodist place of worship in Australia.A public meeting was held at Castlereagh on 15 October, and a public tea meeting and concert will be held in the church grounds on November 3 , 1917. At the public meeting, Rev. J Tarn suggested that the tombstone of John Lees should be moved from the old cemetery to the spot where the first church stood.
