A Council meeting was held on Monday evening at the Council Chambers. Although not what could be called a stormy meeting, the business was delayed considerably by the peculiar behaviour of Alderman Cross, who intended to leave the meeting so that there would not be a quorum, but changed his mind when Alderman Paskin who was absent had been sent for.
