Paragraph refers to case [August 1st] in which 4 men were proceeded against by Sergeant Thorndike, for the Fisheries Department, for unlawfully exploding an explosive substance in the Nepean River for the purpose of destroying fish. The case was dismissed. We understand the Works Department have agreed to pay each of the defendants their expenses, as well as legal costs.
