Penrith's primary school students donned raincoats on World Environment Day Wednesday, June 5, when one of the largest rainfall simulators in the world was demonstrated at Werrington Lakes - Researchers at the University of Western Sydney (UWS) developed the simulator to create rainstorms which educated more than 500 students and the community about the effects of pollution in Sydney's catchments - UWS School of Engineering and Industrial Design head Professor Steven Riley said the demonstration was a hands-on experience for students and the community to understand how polluted run-off reduced the quality of water - Photo by David Hill.
