One by one our old residents are passing away. On Sunday morning last, Mrs Eliza Lucas died at her son's (William Lucas) residence, Emu PLains, being in her 87th year. Mrs Lucas was the relict of the late William Lucas, who predeceased her by nearly 8 years. She came from Cornwall, and came to this colony with her husband over 50 years ago, and after a few years' residence in Sydney, came to Emu Plains, where she has been for about 45 years. Deceased leaves 7 children - 4 daughters and 3 sons. There are also 45 grandchildren, as well as 36 great-grandchildren. Her remains were interred in the Wesleyan portion of the Emu Cemetery.
