An inquest was held Saturday last at the Railway Hotel, St Marys, before District Coroner Mr A Judges, touching on the death of John McLean Sproule on the previous evening. Coroner found he died of fractures & dislocation of neck, resulting from injuries unlawfully inflicted upon him by Albert Edwin Charker, who was then committed to the next gaol delivery at Sydney. Bail was allowed - self 20 pounds, and surety 200 pounds.
