The Penrith basketball team forced their match against Maitland into overtime, before being finally defeated 131-123. The Mustangs held a two-point advantage in the final seconds of play before centre John Hennessy was sent to the free throw line with the game in the balance. Hennessy showed the poise of a veteran to ice both shots, sending the game into overtime, where it quickly went awry for the Panthers.
