For local historian, Norma Thorburn; the Reverend Samuel Marsden was nothing less than visionary. According to Mrs Thorburn, Marsden saw potential in the South Creek area, that most people dismissed as uninhabitable. This weekend marks the bicentenary celebrations of the first land grant in the St Marys/South Creek area.
