Shakespearian Recital - Visit of Mr Hannibal A Williams

Articles
On Friday night of last week Penrith people had the opportunity of hearing this great American reciter. Penrith was the first place Mr Williams visited outside Metropolis, and considering the terrible weather, attendance was much larger than expected, and the performer had a splendid reception. The entertainment is a unique one, the gentleman undertaking the whole cast, and with the exception of dresses and paraphernalia, the Play, Henry 1V Part One, was placed on the boards in all its details. The whole play was enacted without prompt, and, if one were to close his eyes, he would imagine the whole play before him instead of one man. E Price, Mr Williams' advance representative, spent some time in Penrith arranging for this recital, and we have to thank him for giving Penrith people such a treat.
