On Sunday morning last, William Ellis, who for many years has lived at D Durrass' residence doing light services, was found near the out-buildings lying dead. He had just carried the cow an armful of green barley, and it is supposed sat down to rest. Mrs Theo Pike, who had undertaken to milk the cow for her sister-in-law, found the deceased. An inquest was considered unnecessary. The funeral took place on Monday afternoon, the remains being interred in the local cemetery. Another death - a sister-in-law of Mrs Durrass - took place on the Saturday previous.
