An area of bushland not far from Warragamba Dam was chosen in 1968 to be Australia's first Lion Park - It was an area for lions to roam in - The reserve, in Sarina Park, Silverdale, was about 130 acres (52 hectares) - Initially there were 50 lions roaming free - Many nearby residents objected to this tourist attraction.
