Castlereagh - Anniversary - Christ Church and Sunday School

Articles
On Wednesday last a children's treat, tea meeting and concert were held at the Council Chambers, Castlereagh to commemorate anniversary of the Sunday School and Church. Castlereagh is one of the oldest parishes in the colony, and although the present church is by no means new, its predecessor, which was built some distance east of the present structure, was one of the oldest in colony. One often hears of a church with a chimney, but these are not often seen in the colony. Old Castlereagh Church, however had a chimney, and such a chimney - big enough to roast a bullock in. After this brief look back in time, the article gives details of the tea, the amusements and the evening concert, which was hailed as 'the best ever held in Castlereagh'.
