Today, Batt Street, in Jamisontown, is one of the busiest streets in our City of Penrith - But the resident there 50 years ago would have been a farmer, living some distance from shops, schools and facilities - Jamisontown is the name given to an area between Jamison Road and the M4 motorway - Much of this area was once known as York Estate.
