Penrith City Council will lobby the State Government to quadruplicate the main western railway line between St Marys and Penrith station - Councillors voted on Monday to ask State Rail to investigate options to quadruplicate the line to ensure residents of the Penrith Local Government Area (LGA) could gain full benefit from the planned $1.6 billion Parramatta Rail Link (PRL) to Chatswood via Epping - Work on all aspects of the project including track, new stations and interchange facilities is expected to be completed by 2020.
