There was an exceptionally good attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the W C T U, which was held in the Lodge Room, Foresters' Hall. The highlight of the evening was the presentation to the Union of a beautiful banner - a most elaborate affair, being made of a heavy royal-blue corded silk, with white enamelled roller - the gift of Mesdames Haynes, Gascoigne, Baker and Foat. Its design includes the name of the Society enclosed in a shield, with an open bible and flannel flowers. It is surrounded with a silver fringe. Not only is the ladies' work well executed, but the painting by Mr D Daniels is highly creditable. The delegates will take the banner to the Sydney Convention.
