When Lauren, from Erskine Park, first arrived at the Glenmore Park Early Childhood Centre at age two-and-a-half, she could only speak six words - An average two-year-old has a vocabulary of between 200-300 words - Now Lauren, aged 11, is a charming chatterbox, keen student, swimmer and even a member of her school choir - Lauren was diagnosed with profound hearing impairment soon after she was born and was fitted with hearing aids at three months - Her mum Jenny turned to the Glenmore Park Early Childhood Centre, operated by the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children, for help - For more information, contact Director Louise Laird on 4733 4239 - Photo.
