A number of members of the I O G T., and friends of Mat Sainsbury assembled at the Church of England Schoolroom to tender that young man (who is leaving the district), a farewell social. There were about 34 present, and a jolly time was spent. The first part of the evening consisted of harmony, solos and recitations, followed by supper and toasts proposed and responded to. M Sainsbury had been a useful and active member of the I O G T., and also a member of St Mary Magdalene choir.
