Railway Employees' Picnic - Locomotive and Traffic Departments

Articles
The first amalgamated railway picnic of the locomotive and traffic departments (Penrith District) was held on Monday at the Sir Joseph Banks' Grounds, Botany. Attendance totalled between 3000 and 4000, picnickers being conveyed by special trains and trams. Amusements were provided in great variety, and suited to all ages and tastes, the children in particular being well looked after. A valuable sports' prize list was competed for - results printed. Among the interesting events were a series of competitions for members of the Railway Ambulance Corps (Penrith District). Details given in this half-column contribution from the 'Daily Telegraph'.
