The public meeting, convened by the Mayor, in compliance with a requisition to consider the condition of the general cemetery, and to make arrangements for putting and keeping it in a respectable state of repair, was held at the Protestant Hall on Thursday night. This matter had been so fully discussed outside, that it was expected the hall would be full and the enthusiasm intense - but there were only 20 persons present, and there was certainly a lack of enthusiasm throughout.
