I understand that a petition against the site chosen for the post and telegraph offices, as well as one in favour of it, has been sent to the Postmaster-General; and in order to meet the cases, Mr W.D.Matthews, of Bathurst, having been communicated with, has consented to give 50 feet frontage, opposite Castlereagh Street, Penrith at the nominal charge of 8 pounds per foot frontage.
