The boast of many an elector, both at the recent Parliamentary Election for the district and the last civic election for the Municipality, was the evident signs of the influence of sectarian bodies being on the wane, with respect to political and public questions, in which hitherto their influence has been remarkable. It was not absent at the late Municipal election though, and could and should have been avoided. Further comments given on this subject.
