Two booklets published by Lewis Litton on road building. Lewis Litton was the manager of the Emu and Prospect Gravel and Road Metal Co. Ltd. He had been working in the gravel and road making industry since the 1860s in Queensland, Victoria and New Zealand. He invented Littonite a road surface metal base. In 1881 it was laid at Emu Plains from the railway line to the gravel pits. Litton died at Coogee in 1928.
