I was very pleased to accept a highly commended award for Penrith City Council's Sustainable Penrith Strategy at the Local Government Excellence in the Environment Awards presentation in Sydney recently - The strategy was adopted in 1999 & aims to reduce the City's greenhouse gas emissions, introduce sustainable practices in all areas of council operation & make sure new urban development embraces ecologically sustainable practices.
