Parking chaos - Fear for new mall

Articles
Parking and traffic arrangements for the construction of a pedestrian mall in High Street will result in business failure and traffic chaaos, retailers claimed last week. Some retailers on the northern side of High Street believe parking facilities in Allan Place will be inadequate and will force shoppers away to other shopping centre and even to other districts. An association of High Street traders looks likely to form to pressure Penrith Council about the High Street mall. Chamber of Commerce president Michael Murray said the move followed dissatisfaction with certain aspects of the mall's planning. He said the chamber had endorsed a pro-mall policy, but there was still concern about the source of advrtising revenus on fascia boards, parking facilities and the bypass.
