Performing & visual arts in Penrith had big capital injections in 2002 - On July 2 the Star reported that the $12.2m redevelopment of the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre was one step closer, with plans for a new theatre, music teaching rooms, upgraded backstage areas, a piano store room, upgraded dressing rooms, a green room, new foyer & the refurbishment of the Richard Bonynge Performance Hall going on display in the foyer - Bob Carr opened two new studios at the Penrith Regional Gallery.
