Videos and DVDs
Starting out in show business from the age of two and considered one of Australia's most distinguished leading ladies of musical theatre, Jill Perryman celebrates some of her greatest stage achievements with host Tony Charlton in 1966. Featuring rousing numbers from Perryman's star turn as Fanny Brice in Funny Girl, the glorious tribute also includes show stoppers from Cole Porter's Can-Can, Hello Dolly and Pyjama Game. With lively choreography by Betty Pounder, Marita Lowder, Coral Deague and supported by the original Australian cast of Funny Girl, including Bruce Barry, Tessa Mallos and Neville Burns, Jill Perryman fills the spotlight with style and provides a delightful evening of mellifluous entertainment. After performing abroad for several years and establishing an impressive international career with The Merry Widow, celebrated chanteuse June Bronhill was invited to perform on the popular Australian television event The BP Super Show in 1961. Hosted by musician and entertainer Horrie Dargie, the one and only 'Lady from Broken Hill' delivers a delightful set of songs including Richard Rogers' 'Spring is Here', Dvork's 'Songs My Mother Taught Me' and the exquisite Aria from 'La Traviata'. Featuring a lively ballet/dance performance by the GTV9 Ballet, also included is Arthur Young's seasonal tune 'Christmas in the Bush' featuring Horrie Dargie on harmonica and June Bronhill on vocals.
