The death of James Bunyan removes one of the most highly respected residents of Emu Plains. Born at Five Dock, the son of the late Mr James Bunyan who died at Emu Plains in July 1896, he came to Emu Plains with his family at the age of nine. Thirty six years ago he married Mary Towle, who survives him, and there were ten children, nine of who are living. He was buried in the Church of England portion of the General Cemetery, Emu Plains.
